This case is highly functional -- not sure why more cases are not designed this way with the Y crease so you can stand it in portrait mode. I use my iPad 90% of the time in portrait mode. Anyway, after inheriting an older iPad with an Ozaki case like this one, I ordered this unit for my iPad Air 2. Everything was great at first, but after a few months the hard plastic corners started cracking and chipping away through normal use, probably going in and out of my computer bag (which has its own protected iPad section - the iPad has never been dropped). I wrote to Ozaki and they said it's nothing they cover under warranty, so I'm stuck with it. Now after almost a year it still works and stays on, but I am shopping for something new. All the corners are exposed now at varying levels - attached photo is the worst of the four. I think a better design would be to make the back or sides a hard rubber or something with more give -- the hard plastic probably doesn't have any shock protection anyway, and now that the corners are more or less exposed it really should be replaced. I wish it held up better, especially for the price.

Love all slim y cases for all iPads. Have always purchased this case for iPads because of vertical and horizontal positions. Had to get it for the iPad air 2
