Five stars all day long for this tiny-but-mighty lifesaver! So, full confession: I didnโt realize my old pH control bottles had been open for over a year (oops ๐ ). When my very temperamental hydroponic system started acting like a diva, I knew something was off. Enter this fantastic kitโand wow, what a difference in effectiveness right out of the gate! First off, the ease of use is chefโs kiss. The pH up and pH down solutions are slightly gel-like instead of super watery, which makes them much easier to controlโno accidental glug-glug disasters here! Plus, theyโre color-coded (bless whoever thought of that), so no more squinting and second-guessing labels. That alone gets a standing ovation from me. The adjustability is spot on. Whether Iโm doing a big correction or just a tiny tweak for delicate seedlings, the included droppers make it easy to dial things in precisely. And letโs talk about those extrasโthis kit really delivers on value for money. You get droppers, measuring cups, a microfiber cloth (adorable and useful!), and a generous stack of 80 pH strips. Now, about those stripsโthey do the job, but theyโre more of a cardboard style, so theyโre not the most user-friendly thing in the world. Youโve got to be a little quick and careful with them. Minor gripe, though, because the overall pH reduction and balancing performance of the kit more than makes up for it. I also appreciate the durability of the bottles themselvesโthey feel solid and well-made, not flimsy like some Iโve used before. Bonus: this isnโt just for hydroponics! Iโm especially excited to use it for my hydrangeas to play around with bloom colors. Talk about a fun garden experiment! All in all, this kit has everything you need and then some. Between the thoughtful extras, solid effectiveness, and fantastic value for money, I highly recommend it. My plants are happier, my water is finally behaving, and I feel like a pH wizard. Easy to use, generous supply of solutions and test strips.
Several years ago, while living out in the country I grew a small outdoors hydroponic veggie garden using a few large Kratky style tub planters. My water was pumped from a very deep aquifer, so it didnโt contain the common โcity nastiesโ and using the nutrient products that came with the planters, everything flourished. Having moved into an apartment in the city, I decided to have an indoor hydroponics garden and am growing microgreens as well. The water here is absolutely atrocious, so I purify every drop that will be used for drinking, cooking and of course for my plants. The kit comes with a generous amount of both solutions and the testing strips, which are easy to read with a quick comparison to the provided color chart. I had assumed the solutions in my planters are likely to be balanced due to the strong and reliable plant growth I was getting, but I was glad to confirm it in this way. If I were to need more precision than the color chart method can provide, a meter will help for accuracy but the solutions in this kit will still be appropriate if adjustments were to be necessary. Iโm glad to have extra peace of mind that this kit provides as I do my best to care for my garden.

My First Time Messing With PH
General Hydroponics pH Up Down Liquid. This was pretty interesting. I'm not doing full on hydroponics YET! Really like to get into it in the future though. I am doing Semi-Hydroponics with house plants and Leca. It's been a learning process already, but I wanted to get into pH levels and such. At first I thought the test strips wasn't working as the color didn't change when I dipped it into my water I'm using for my Semi-hydroponics pot. Which is distilled water with some hydro plant food in it. Then I dipped a strip into my tap water that I have added water conditioner and fertilizer in. Oy that's the test strip that's green in the picture. You get a lot of strips in this kit, and these bottles don't look big, but it doesn't take much to affect the levels. I'm going to keep playing around before I tackle a full on hydropics hopefully by next spring as I'm going to have to use tap water in that.

Quick and easy to test and adjust water pH
I got this pH Up and Down kit to adjust the pH in the water I use in my hydroponic setup. I also occasionally use it to lower the pH when I water plants like blueberries. I like how easy and convenient this kit makes adjusting water pH since it came with everything I needed. The test strips provide instant results and it's really easy to match the color on the strip to the included color chart. The small droppers make slight adjustments really easy and it doesn't take much of the solution to change the pH making this a great value. Overall this kit makes it quick and easy to test and adjust the pH in my hydroponic system.

Up an down ph
This kit comes with both up an down ph. An seems to be very sensitive! Id use a bit under on the measurements. Making sure you test after its mixed throughout. It doesnt have instructions so I am flying blind on this one. The test kit i bought seemed to always be high when I used the up an low when I used the down ph. Im still trying to play with it. The plants are not very happy though.

Lowered my pH effectively
Being new to hydroponic growing, I did not realize my system could get so out of balance. My plants werenโt growing like they did the first couple of times, and I started looking for solutions. Testing, I found my pH to be higher than specified. My solution was the YINMIK General Hydroponics pH Up Down control kit. The first thing I noticed after receiving, was the package had a seal on it, so I knew it had not been used. Removing the two bottles, I noticed they also had sealed caps. This was my first time adjusting pH so I took things slowly. The product was easy to use. Using the provided dropper, I would measure an amount and wait 30 minutes. I took me a little over two hours, but the YINMIK General Hydroponics kit was effective in lowering my pH. Once my pH was down, my plants started looking better in a couple of days.

Supposed to be for soil-based pots too but no instructions provided.
I usually just mix my soils for specific plants and it works well. However, I have been reading about the pH for optimal growth and want to give my plants the opportunity for that. My plants are in soil but these pH adjusters can be used there as well, according to the listing. This is a comprehensive kit and includes acidic and alkaline buffers, two measuring cups, two pipettes, pH strips and a mopping cloth. I like that the two bottles are labelled as pH up for the alkaline buffer and pH down for the acidic buffer. Easier to remember! I have a pH meter to test the pH of soil but to check the pH of the liquid when I mix it into water prior to adding it to the pot, I need the pH strips. I am glad that that is included in this kit. I do not add the buffer directly to the pot. I check the pH of the soil. I tried this on my small spider plant. It requires an optimal pH of 6-6.5, so slightly acidic. When I checked, the pH of that particular pot was about 5.5 So I needed the pH up. In the accompanying measuring cup, I measured 10 ml of water and added 2 drops of the pH up buffer. I mixed it and poured a few drops into the pot. Then I waited a few hours for the liquid to permeate all around. When I checked the pH again, in several spots in the pot, the pH was raised a little, in others, not, so I added more water to the jar and added that to the pot. That was this morning. I am waiting to see how much the pH increases and how much I need to add to get the ideal pH. I suspect that once I get used to using these liquids, it will go much faster. Right not I am being very cautious. There are no instructions to using this in soil-based pots and I would have liked the sellers to provide that as well, since they have said that this system works for soil-based pots too. For now, it is interesting to experiment, and I seem to be getting there. The current price is, I think, reasonable for this kit. If it works and I get the hang of it to make it easier, or the seller provides more information on how to use it on soil-based pots, I will probably always keep it on hand.
