Didn’t work at all for a Sony TV

I have hated my little 32" tcl roku tv since I got it. If I didn't point the remote right at the IR on the tv, nothing. This IR extender worked like magic at first. I could, if I wanted, point the remote 2'-3' to the left or right of the extender and it would pick up the signal. Yesterday it started being a little fussy. Today, I have to press the remote buttons 2-3 times and point right at the device to get any response. I have changed the batteries in my remote twice. No difference. I also have a generic tcl roku tv remote and it's responding the same way, having to hit the buttons 2-3 times and point right at the extender. At this point, I cannot recommend this extender. Update: Two days after writing this review, I realized the sensor had fallen off. I've used clear shipping tape to tape it to the IR sensor spot on the tv, it's holding, having a better range of remote is improved again, so I am also updating my 1* to 3*. Obviously the adhesive is not sufficient to keep it attached. Will come back and update if things change.
