High quality knife with great material and construction
This is a high quality knife with great materials, fit and construction. The blade is 1066 high carbon steel, and is plenty robust with a tang going all the way to end of the handle. It fits the hand well. It came razor sharp from the box and it stays sharp. I cut a 1 inch diameter stick to a sharp point and it was still razor sharp. The sheath with included ferro rod is well designed for fit and function. I would pick this knife for most outings. The only con is the 1066 steel will rust, so keep it clean and oiled. If stored in leather sheath it may rust, so oil the blade, always keep it oiled. To store long term, oil it, then protect the edge from cutting and store in a box OUTSIDE the sheath. I make temporary scabbards from a box with duct tape. BH on 17Aug2025

Great knife for the woodsman, and everyman!
I was impressed with this knife the minute I took it out of the package. It is nicely finished and well-made. It's a great addition for many woodcraft jobs and camping in general. It's also great to use around the house. The blade is very sharp and holds its edge even after a hard day of work. It is also great for slicing and dicing vegetables and cutting your meat into bite-sized pieces. The hilt is nice and thick, and will take a pounding. It's easy to use this knife for splitting branches, feathering, and making kindling for your fire. The sheath is well-made and has a button instead of a snap, which I prefer. It secures the knife well. I bought the sheath that holds the knife, as well as a fire-starter. The blade of this knife creates a generous amount of sparks when struck against the firestarter. As for the price, this knife is a bargain.

Great bushcraft knife, well made.
I got this as a gift for my wife and I am very impressed. The knife came shaving sharp in a nice sheath with a lanyard amd a ferro rod. The hardwood handle is nice instead of the rubber- like handles that get sticky in hot weather and looks very classy. The blade is full tang and decently thick for batoning, and the size is very nice. Substantial without being too large. All in all, a great basic bushcraft/ camping knife that is soilidly made and a good value.

Nice Knife
My son-in-law loves this knife. It’s a nice size and well balanced. Feels good in your hand and is very sharp.

Great knife for camping, bush-crafting, and all-around handy knife to have by your side.
This is a really nice full tang hunting/camping knife. The blade is sturdy AND SHARP! The handle feels nice in the hand, and the weight seems just right. The sheath is nice, thick leather. My only con to this product is the securing loop. It was not sewn onto the sheath, so when it is not fastened (ie. when you unfasten it to remove the knife) the fastener is subject to falling to the ground. I plan on sewing it on when I get some thick thread. All in all, I think it's a great buy, and will probably purchase another one to have as a backup in the truck. The sheath does have a standard belt loop as well as a dangling belt loop for a lower carry, making it easy to use no matter how you prefer to carry it. The knife fits into the sheath, completely protecting the blade, easily.

Good value
This knife gets a lot of things right; a thin blade and a thicker handle, which many manufacturers seem to get backward. The blade stock is not too thick which makes this good at doing knife things like slicing and shaving wood. The handle is nice and full. It is not the typical thin handle that manufactures usually put on knives. You can get a nice grip on the handle and it is comfortable without weird finger grooves and contours that fit only some hands. This handle should fit all hand sizes. The blade came very sharp and the grind angle seems to be suited for cutting rather than heavy duty non-knife tasks. The knife blade is wide which gives it a nice appearance but it makes it feel a lot less nimble than a knife like a mora companion. The back can scrape a ferro rod and the part of the tang with the lanyard hole is definitely sharp enough for a ferro rod and could probably scrape out a spoon. The sheath is OK. It looks nice and the leather is soft, but I would prefer the knife to secure in different way without the clasp. A stiffer leather with a friction fit is my preference. I'm still giving it 5 stars though because I really think there should be less micarta and G10 in the world and more wooden handles, and this knife got that right and I appreciate that. So far the 1066 steel seems fine. It is by no means a junk steel and also by no means a high end steel. It is a decent steel for a knife and should be more than adequate for outdoor use.

Review
For the price this is a good knife. My only complaint is the knife developed rust in the sheath when it got damp in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness this year. Seemed to rust almost immediately. The knife keeps an edge pretty well and the sheath is good. I like the ferro rod in the sheath. It throws good sparks. Overall great for the money.

Scandigrind butter knife
3 stars because it is a beautiful looking knife and well made. The one I received was as sharp as a butter knife. It’s very sharp now since I sharpened. I know it was inexpensive but still. The case is nice as well, the strap dowel that secures the knife in the case fell off 4 times before I even took the knife outside, had to modify that to make it stay on. Looks as though they made this knife and just shipped it out with very little quality over view. Very comfortable to hold and use but not my go to on a planned trip, it will stay in the truck for now.

A reasonably priced knife. Like the feel of the handle, nice and sharp. The sheath is a beautiful leather. For the price wasn't expecting such a well crafted knife & sheath. Handle a weekend of bushcrafting with no pro

Have been using for a year now with regular use hunting and fishing. I'm really quite impressed, especially for the price. Holds an edge fairly well, easy to sharpen. I would recommend.

I use knives daily as a part of my occupation, and also for recreation. I was basically addicted to Condor knives from El Salvador, but became interested in knives made in Ukraine. I have used BPS knives and found them to be as good if not better than Condors, particularly their bushcraft and adventurer knives. When I heard about Beavercraft, I did not hesitate in obtaining one, as it seemed to be around the same pricepoint as BPS, and was another Ukrainian business. After putting the knife through its paces I have found it to be almost as good as a BPS, but the sheath is thinner and much looser. I have some extra BPS sheaths, and will toss this one. The knife does what is needed, and for the price is a solid deal. The carbon steel used is of good quality, and as anyone who uses bush knives knows, can be easily resharpened. A light cleaning and oiling will keep this one going for many years to come.

This knife looks epic. The sheath is beautiful real leather and the fire steel is just awesome. Really feels great in the hand. Very solid built. I hear the handle can get slippery when wet so that's one concern but I'll make an update in a few months or years once I have put it to the test.
